First impressions - The site has good functionalilty and a clean design, without abandoning the look and feel of the original website. Usability is excellent. Good job, team!

the new site is by far better than the old site. but i really dont think its anything to write home about. the site like virtual reality seems to be visually stuck in 1992
Please include suggestions on how we could improve things in your criticisms so that we can use these feedbacks constructively.
Also, please distinguish between visual aesthetics (eye candy factor) and content aspects in your comments so that we can better see what you refer to. The past comment sounded to target the aesthetics mainly.
Lastly, please provide in a few lines, a description of your personal background so that we have a better idea of the user needs.
I would like to expand on the ads issue. We know that some users find those ads disturbing, but let's take a critical view at it. This web site has been online since 1995, thanks to the financial support of Chuck Durham and me. We are the oldest VR related web site remaining in operation as far as I can tell. We have seen many other good sites go under, yet, VResources still floats and well. As with any new technology, we found out like every body else of the appearance of Google ads services years ago and saw a long term solution to ensure that VResources would remain active and supported. In the end, who is benefiting these ads? Mainly you, our many loyal readers.
Let me turn this around. Would you personally be willing to pay a yearly subscription to have access to the content of this site? The answer to this question probably gives you your answer about the presence of the ads here. We feel that ads are less obtrusive to our visitors than asking them to pay for the hundreds, if not thousands of hours we put on this site yearly.
We have done all we could so that the ads are non-obtrusive to the users while they browse this site, and frankly, I would not say that we have much of them really. Look around on the web and you will certainly see sites which have much much more ads, placed every where inside the text of the articles. We do not do that because we respect our users. We made it so that it is easy to forget about the ads for those who do not like them. On the other hand, some visitors actually appreciate these sponsored links as they provide services for what they are looking for.
This is basically our statement about the presence of ads on this site. In an ideal world, the Internet would really be free. In the real life, many like us know that this is only a false impression on the surface as anything we do over Internet cost someone money. Please consider this before asking us to remove ads... You are asking us to shut down this site, which I believe, many users would be sad to see disappear for good.
