 <p>The ACM Symposium on Virtual Reality Software and Technology (VRST) is an<br />
 international forum for the exchange of experience and knowledge among<br />
 researchers and developers concerned with virtual reality software and<br />
 technology. This year\, VRST 2009 is co-sponsored by ACM and the<br />
 Virtual Reality Society of Japan (VRSJ). VRST 2009 will provide an<br />
 opportunity for VR researchers to interact\, share new results\, show<br />
 live demonstrations of their work\, and discuss emerging directions for<br />
 the field.</p>

 <p>The IEEE Tabletops and interactive Surfaces (TIS) Conference is a premier<br />
 venue for presenting research in the design and use of new and emerging<br />
 tabletop and interactive surface technologies. As a new community\, we<br />
 embrace the growth of the discipline in a wide variety of areas\, including<br />
 innovations in TIS hardware\, software\, interaction design\, and studies<br />
 expanding our understanding of design considerations of TIS technologies and<br />
 of their applications in modern society.</p>
 <p>Based on the overwhelming success of the previous Tabletop/TIS workshops\,<br />
 TIS 2009 is introducing some new forums\, including invited Tutorials and<br />
 Interactive Posters.</p>
 <p>TIS 2009 will bring together top researchers and practitioners who are<br />
 interested in both the technical and human aspects of TIS technology. On<br />
 behalf of the conference organizing committee\, we invite you to begin<br />
